The Kenyan tourism industry may suffer huge losses after many western countries issued travel advisories to their citizens. Among the countries that have issued travel advisories are UK, France, USA and Australia . The travel advisories were met with criticism from leaders who claimed that they were ill timed because Kenya was safe. Today, there was another terror attack at Gikomba where more than 4 Kenyans died on the spot and several injured confirming the fears that led to the above named countries to issue travel advisories.
By yesterday, many planes arrived at the Coast to ferry tourists to safe places in other countries due to regular terror attacks in Kenya. The tourists have taken the travel advisories seriously and many of them are leaving the country even after assurances from president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto that Kenya is a " Safe " Destination.
Kenyans keep demanding that there is enough security in this country because security is a constitutional entitlement and nobody should beg for it. Insecurity is affecting our economy and if nothing is done, Kenya will be among the fallen states .
